A dock in the Dives, early morning.

It had been miserable and rainy for the last four days, and had shown no sign of letting up. The new umbrella he had bought had been paying dividends. It was big enough for himself and Sunner to walk under, which was handy, as the man was still insistent on walking him to and from work every day. There was no need for it this morning, though. Matty had been awoken by sunlight streaming into the cabin through the windows. Clear, sunny days were exceptionally rare in Hamis, and rarer still that they would coincide with a day when Matty did not need to work.

It was still early when he had woken up. He stayed in bed for a bit, curled up against Sunner. He tried to get back to sleep, but eventually had decided to get up, leaving the other man in their bed as he got dressed. He chose a pale ivory blouse and a checked waistcoat, with a skirt to match. Once he was satisfied, he stoked the woodstove back to life and set water boiling for tea in a battered old kettle they had found not long ago. Once he had a steaming cup in his hands, he made his way out onto the deck as the sun crested the buildings that lined the river on either side.

It really was a lovely morning, and already pleasantly warm. There was not a cloud in the sky, which was a stark change from the rain and hail of the day prior. He leaned on the side of the boat as he sipped his drink, listening to the noise of carts and people beginning to drift over from the nearby streets. It was all very calm, and he really quite liked it. It wasn’t as calm as it had been when they had docked outside the city walls, but being in the city made it much, much easier and quicker to get to and from his job.

It didn’t take him long to decide exactly how he wanted to spend the day. He took his time finishing his tea, deciding to let Sunner sleep a bit longer. Once he was finished, he made his way back into the cabin and sat down on the edge of the bed. He didn’t wake the other man up right away, instead sitting there and admiring for a bit first. He really was handsome, even when he was passed out like the dead and snoring away, his blonde hair a mess under him. Matty reached out, brushing a strand of hair out of Sunner’s face, then leaned down, kissing him softly.

“Wake up, Sunshine,” he said quietly, placing another kiss on the man’s cheek, then his jaw.

“It’s a nice day. We should go out.”

Sunner hardly moved as Matty got up and moved about their boat, passed out and dead to the world. He had rolled over onto his side by the time his partner returned to the makeshift bedroom, and was contently drooling a puddle onto his arm, and then mattress, in his sleep. Normally Sunner would have been up at the crack of dawn, fixing the boat or out scavenging for things to fix the boat with, but for once he had slept well past sun-up.

Finally he closed his mouth, that would allow the drool all over his arm to dry and cement his hair to his skin, but at least it also stopped the snoring. He yawned in his sleep, smiling as Matty placed the kiss on his face. "Nn..." He mumbled, stretching out one arm, patting Matty's back, then side. "Whuh timesit...?" He yawned again, eyes still closed. Sunner shuffled over on the bed, feeling around so he could wrap his arms around Matty's hips while still laying down, eyes closed.

He would have much preferred to just stay in bed, after all he was already there, who needed to get up when everything he wanted was right in bed? Much easier to just stay put. Sunner opened one eye, then both eyes, "S'it nice out? 'Bout time." He said sleepily, too tired to go on a rant about the stupid weather. He'd grumbled about being waterlogged and cold the last few days, so the news about the weather being decent was a nice surprise.

Sunner yawned, drifting off back towards dreamland, contorted in a strange way to be able to hug Matty around his hips while he half-slept. Going out did sound nice, but what about the work he had to do? Did Matty have the day off, even? He couldn't remember, but it didn't matter because he was quite comfortable.

"Guess we could," He murmured, "Don't think I got much t'do t'day... 'less somethin' comes up or summin..." Sunner yawned again, and his stomach growled loudly. He sighed, getting up and going out meant food, that sounded a little better than just laying in bed, so, reluctantly he released Matty and rolled over and out of the bed.

He found a pair of mostly clean pants, and clumsily pulled them on. "M'guessin' you got an idea, if we're goin' out, yeah?"

A dock in the dives, morning.

Matty smiled as Sunner’s arms slid around him. It was an awkward angle to be snuggled at, but that hadn’t stopped the man from trying. It took every ounce of his self control not to simply slide back into bed. Sunner was warm and inviting, as always. And terribly handsome, even half asleep and covered in a slowly drying patch of what Matty was certain was his own saliva. It would be so easy to just spend the day in bed with him, enjoying his company and… well, other things. No, he told himself, standing firm. He wanted to go out. It was sunny, and warm. There would be plenty of far drearier days to spend that way.

Sunner did eventually release him and get up, which removed any lingering temptation. He got dressed, as well, which removed even more. The bed would go cold without Sunner there to keep it warm, which meant there was no reason to think about staying in it for the rest of the day. Matty hummed thoughtfully as Sunner asked about a plan.

“Mm… breakfast first,” he said, walking over and looping his arms around Sunner’s neck, pulling him into another kiss. “There's a café nearby I've been wanting to go to. And then… I don’t know. We could sightsee, like a couple of tourists. I’ve lived here my whole life, but you haven’t. Is there anything you want to see or do?”

If nothing else, they could just wander around. There were markets and shops and all sorts of other things to occupy their attention. Matty had saved up a little bit of money for something special, perhaps they would find it.

He wiped the drool crust from his face, scrubbing a mostly clean hand through the scruff on his chin with a grunt. Wherever the Wick was thinking of going for breakfast, Sunner was sure to stand out like a sore thumb, no matter how cleaned up he got, not that it bothered Sunner, in fact he would probably be entirely oblivious to any stares he recieved. He stood out especially bad when next to Matty, who always looked so well put together.

Sunner yawned immediately following the kiss, and nodded, "Sure." He said, but couldn't think of anything he wanted to see... He had no idea what sort of tourist things were around. His expression blanked, and he just stared at Matty for a few seconds. "Uh... I d'know what's 'round here fer tourist attractions..." He mumbled, still looking blank.

He gently freed himself from Matty's hug to find a shirt, giving it a sniff to ensure it didn't smell terrible, and, upon deciding it only smelled somewhat off, pulled it on. Alright, maybe the shirt didn't smell as clean as he thought it had, as he got a whiff of his own stink, he hoped it wouldn't be too noticeable, he'd just washed the damn shirt a few days ago after all. "Breakfast sounds good, though." He could have eaten a whole banquet if it was offered to him, or left unattended for too long, but he'd be happy with whatever the place Matty was thinking of served.

Tourism though, he wasn't really used to that sort of thing, in fact the idea hadn't even crossed his mind before, in any capacity. Previously he would have complained that there was no good reason to go look at a statue or visit a fancy park or something of that nature, he had work to do, money to earn, whores to bed, beer to drink, the whole lot of his vices weren't exactly tourist-friendly. That realization made him twist his face into a sort of half scowl, feeling somewhat out of his depth.
